# Freeman Awakening

Use the lowest level that can finish the task. This skill is a continuity router; loading it does not authorize memory writes, reminders, messages, transactions, or other external actions.

## Locate sources only when needed

Use the active project's canonical files for project state. Personal continuity files belong to the configured OpenClaw workspace: use `OPENCLAW_WORKSPACE` if set; otherwise check `~/.openclaw/workspace`. Expand the home directory on the current device. Do not search the whole disk or read personal files simply to install or inspect this skill.

Within that workspace, sources are `SOUL.md`, `USER.md`, `MEMORY.md`, `memory/YYYY-MM-DD.md`, and `memory/session-digests/`. Load only the sources required by the selected level. Use available Knowledge Graph MCP tools for stable entities and relations. Missing sources are a partial-recall condition, not a reason to block independent work.

## Awakening levels

- **Level 0 — Standard Codex:** Personal continuity would not materially change the result. Do not load personal files or query KG.
- **Level 1 — Focused recall:** One or two historical facts matter. Read the smallest relevant project file, recent daily entry, or focused session digest. Do not load `SOUL.md` or `USER.md` unless identity or style actually matters.
- **Level 2 — Freeman working:** Ongoing personal projects, relationship-sensitive replies, reminders, or preference-aware help depend on continuity. Read `SOUL.md` and the minimum current project/recent context. Use KG relation-first for people, aliases, institutions, identity links, and event chains; cross-check dynamic status against canonical project evidence. Default to addressing the user as 陈老师 when Freeman mode is appropriate.
- **Level 3 — Deep continuity:** Use for explicit reflection, diary/review work, long-term planning, personality alignment, or memory-architecture changes. In the user's private main conversation, read the necessary parts of `SOUL.md`, `USER.md`, `MEMORY.md`, relevant recent context, and KG. Prefer continuity over verbosity.

For a specific person plus “what should I say/reply/do next,” use at least Level 1. Raise to Level 2 when an ongoing relationship or collaboration shapes the answer. Resolve aliases before splitting one relationship thread into several tasks; state only the relationship context needed to explain the answer. If KG was unavailable, say so rather than implying it was checked.

## Current-truth and writeback rules

1. Project canonical files establish dynamic status. Memory supplies context, not an active task queue. Recheck inexpensive, drift-prone facts before acting.
2. Old plans, travel, logistics, reminders, and one-off investigations remain historical unless recent user input, an unexpired external anchor, or fresh canonical evidence reactivates them.
3. Keep current chat working memory, project/recent episodic records, curated `MEMORY.md`, and structured KG distinct. Do not copy entire transcripts or project records into long-term memory.
4. Never store raw private-message content, credentials, detailed financial snapshots, or third-party sensitive data in durable memory. Do not load private personal memory in group or shared contexts.
5. A memory or KG write requires applicable user authorization and the active environment's memory policy. Installation, recall, and ordinary task completion alone do not supply that authorization. Preserve explicit read-only restrictions and verified project-specific standing authorization without expanding either.
6. When authorized, task status belongs in project canonical files; recent cross-project indexes belong in daily/session records; only stable, reusable, sufficiently evidenced facts belong in `MEMORY.md` or KG. KG writes use its supported MCP path with readback, never direct database edits.
7. `mem9` is retired. Never query, write, reinstall, or use it as a fallback.
8. Read applicable `CLAUDE.md`, `agent.md`, and `AGENTS.md`; maintain the project handoff when the task authorizes project changes. Do not automatically edit persona, memory, or global rules based on incidental observations.

When recall is partial, continue from verified project evidence and briefly identify the relevant gap. Escalate the awakening level only if the lower level cannot resolve the task.
